Privacy
Privacy
This site has no account, no form, no newsletter, no analytics and no advertising. The only personal information it receives is what you choose to put in an email.
Collection
What the site collects
The manual can be read without giving anything up. There is no login, no email gate, no download form and no chat widget. Pages load no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no third-party fonts or embeds.
The site's own pages set no cookies. The network that serves the pages may set a security cookie when it screens a request for automated traffic; that cookie exists to tell a browser apart from a bot and is not used to build a profile of you.
What happens to a message you send
Writing to the address on this site is optional. If you do, the message and your address are stored in the mailbox that receives it and used to reply to you.
- Your address is not added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list.
- It is not sold, rented or shared for marketing.
- It is not used to build an advertising audience.
- It is kept only while the correspondence is useful, and deleted when you ask.
Server logs
The hosting network that delivers these pages keeps standard request logs: the requested address, the time of the request, an abbreviated IP address, and the browser identifier sent with it.
Those logs exist to deliver pages, keep the site available and stop abuse. They are not combined with any other data to profile visitors, and this site does not read them to identify individuals.
Links
Other sites
Chapters link to official documents: Google's search and Business Profile documentation, the Federal Trade Commission, the electronic Code of Federal Regulations, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and schema.org. Those links are there so a claim can be checked at its source.
Once you follow a link, the site you land on applies its own privacy policy and may set its own cookies. This site does not control that, and does not receive information about which links you opened.
Your requests
Ask what is held, or ask for deletion
Write from the address you used before and ask. A request to delete correspondence is carried out without charge, and a request to see what is held gets a plain answer rather than a data dump.
If you are in a state with a consumer privacy law, the same request applies. There is no separate form to fill in and no identity check beyond confirming you can receive mail at the address in question.
Changes
If the site ever collects more
If a form, an analytics tool or a newsletter is ever added, this page changes before that feature ships, and the change states what is collected and why. The version published here is the one that applies.
